Actress and director Maria Schrader takes over the jury presidency at this year's Günter Rohrbach Film Award. She succeeds actor Michael "Bully" Herbig, who held the position last year, as announced by the Günter Rohrbach Film Award Foundation and the city of Neunkirchen.

The award will be presented on November 8 in Neunkirchen. German-language feature films with a minimum length of 80 minutes that fall under the theme "Workplace and Society" are eligible to participate in the competition. Films could be submitted for the competition until early August, it was reported.

For the 14th time, the Günter Rohrbach Film Award Foundation, in cooperation with the city of Neunkirchen, is presenting the award this year. It honors film producer Günter Rohrbach, born in Neunkirchen on October 23, 1928 ("Das Boot", "The Neverending Story"). The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros.

People from various fields of the film industry are expected to attend the award ceremony, as the Günter Rohrbach Film Award is known for attracting a diverse audience. The jury, led by Maria Schrader, will have the crucial task of selecting the winning film among the submitted entries.
