Marek Mintal, a long-time player for 1. FC Nuremberg, welcomes the idea of teaming up with new coach Miroslav Klose. "It would be really amazing to work with him. I hold him in high regard," Mintal remarked to the German Press Agency. No one has signed up with him yet.

On Tuesday, the nine-time German champion from Franconia revealed that Klose will take over from Christian Fiel at the start of the new season. The 46-year-old former international player inked a two-year deal with Nuremberg.

"Miro's talent doesn't need to be mentioned. I've known him a little bit, and I consider him a top-notch person and a gifted soccer player. He's very upbeat and down-to-earth. It's wonderful news for the club," expressed Mintal (46). From 2003 to 2011, the Slovak played for FCN and held various coaching roles at the traditional club since then. His most recent coaching job ended in March this year with SpVgg Bayreuth.

Klose, 2014 World Champion and World Cup's all-time top scorer, shared his thoughts during his presentation: "The objective is to achieve success as swiftly as possible." He's fond of challenges, but described discussing promotion as haughty.
