- Many illegal entries at the Polish border
Officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate in Pasewalk arrested a suspected human trafficker over the past weekend in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and apprehended a total of 42 illegal immigrants. Among them were 24 Somalis, many of whom were minors, as well as ten Afghans, three Syrians, and five Iranians, as the police reported.
The individuals were apprehended in various locations including Pomellen, Nadrensee, and Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom. Most of them had been smuggled into Germany via the Belarus route.
The human trafficking case highlights the ongoing issue of migration, with many Somali minors and other nationalities seeking refuge in Germany. The suspected trafficker's arrest and the apprehension of these immigrants underscore the need for stricter border control and protection measures.
