Statistics - Many families in Saxony-Anhalt only have one child

Only around ten percent of families in Saxony-Anhalt had three or more children last year. This was announced by the State Statistical Office on Thursday. One-child families accounted for the largest proportion of the total of around 275,200 families with children (58 percent). According to the figures, 88,800 families (32 percent) had two children in 2022. In total, there were 80,500 single parents in Saxony-Anhalt. At 83 percent, mothers were clearly in the majority.
