Traffic - Many car posers at the police "Tuning Talk" in Uelzen
Police invited automotive enthusiasts to relaxed discussions in Uelzen and were surprised by the turnout during the test run. Officially, 220 visitors were counted, with approximately 150 present at the peak, and measurements were taken on 72 vehicles. The question of what is allowed and what is not longer - this was the focus of the "Tuning Talk" on Friday evening.
"My impression is very positive. It's surprising that so many people are coming," said Markus Lindner from the police group "Autoposer" during the evening meeting, where free sound level measurements were also offered. The event was attended by car and motorcycle enthusiasts. For the officers, the focus was not on violations, but on prevention.
For some time now, complaints about noise have been increasing, especially at night on weekends, as the Lüneburg Police Inspection reported. In Uelzen, Lüchow, Dannenberg, and Lüneburg, automotive enthusiasts and motorcyclists were among those causing concern.
Sad highlights were the fatal car accident of two young men with a highly motorized car in Dannenberg in 2022 and the fatal traffic accident of a motorcyclist in the Bad Bevensen area in 2023.
- Despite the ongoing concerns about noise, particularly from motorcyclists, the police in Lower Saxony organized a test run for automotive enthusiasts in Uelzen, including a motorcyclist who participated in the event.
- The police were pleasantly surprised by the high turnout during the test run, with over 220 visitors participating in the "Tuning Talk," including some who underwent lower noise level measurements for their vehicles.
- A motorcyclist who participated in the test run in Uelzen was one of the many attendees who appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the focus on discussions rather than enforcement, as the police aimed to prevent violations rather than penalize.
- After the conclusion of the test run in Uelzen, police officers returned to their regular duties, monitoring traffic and ensuring compliance with regulations, including enforcing speed limits and other rules to prevent accidents like the fatal ones involving cars and motorcycles in Dannenberg and Bad Bevensen.
