Many Berlin Christmas markets open on Monday
Numerous Berlin Christmas markets open their doors on Monday. These include the markets at the Kulturbrauerei, Charlottenburg Palace, Rotes Rathaus and Alexanderplatz, among many others. According to the Senate Chancellery, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner (CDU), is also expected to attend some of the official openings in the afternoon.
A few Christmas markets have already attracted visitors, such as the "Queere Winterwunderland" on the banks of the Spree in Mitte, as can be seen in a city overview. Christmas markets with a special offer - such as the Zero Waste Christmas Market or the African Winter Market - should also only be available for the duration of the first weekend in December.
Visitors should be aware that customs regulations may apply to foreign goods brought to the crowded Christmas markets. Despite the fixed dates, some traders may offer discounts during the Christmas market season as a way to attract more customers.
