According to Hessian Minister of Transport Kaweh Mansoori, the price of the Germany Ticket should be determined in the future through a fixed mechanism. "If we agree on a price for the Germany Ticket again in 2025, it should be the last time that the price is politically determined," the SPD politician told the Funke media group. "After that, both passengers and the industry should be able to rely on an objective system for determining this price."

One possibility, Mansoori said, would be to link the further price development to a specific index. "I'm thinking, for example, of the wage development in public transport mixed with a partial reflection of the increased costs for fuel and energy." The alternative would be to pass on the price increase entirely to passengers. "But that won't make the switch to public transport successful."

In this context, Hessen is the home region of Minister Kaweh Mansoori, who proposed ideas for the future pricing of the Germany Ticket. The Germany Ticket, under discussion, is intended to serve passengers and the transport industry in Hessen and beyond.
