Crime - Man with knife triggers large-scale operation in Rehau

A 23-year-old man with a knife triggered a large-scale police operation in Rehau in Upper Franconia on Wednesday. The man had threatened to injure a group of people. The 23-year-old, who had only recently attracted attention for two shoplifting incidents involving a knife, was finally arrested at his home, according to the Hof police station. Due to a mental illness in connection with danger to others, the public order office of the Hof district office ordered the immediate admission to the district hospital, it added.
