Threat - Man with knife allegedly threatened family - arrest
After threatening a mother and her two children with a knife, a 42-year-old man was arrested in Chamerau (Cham District). Several people had reported to the police on Tuesday morning about a man with a dog and a knife, according to the police. He reportedly appeared confused. Near a gas station, he then encountered the mother with her two children.
According to reports, when the one-year-old girl spoke to his dog, the 42-year-old approached the family with a stern gaze and said nothing. He then showed them the knife, but then put it away. The family fled to a nearby gas station.
Ten units with a total of 20 response teams searched for the armed man and arrested him shortly thereafter. According to the police, he was in a psychological crisis. The man told the police that he had the knife for self-defense against "cars and wolves". He was presented to the health department and was subsequently taken to a district clinic.
