Man tries to stop drunk driver and gets rammed
A man in Swabia was rammed while trying to stop a drunk driver. According to the police on Wednesday, the 30-year-old wanted to prevent the man from driving away with his car in front of a restaurant in Monheim (Donau-Ries district) on Sunday. The 33-year-old hit him with his car, causing the man to suffer a broken elbow, among other injuries.
Only a police patrol stopped the drunk driver after the incident. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.4 per mille. The 33-year-old is being investigated for negligent bodily harm, among other things.
The incident in Monheim highlighted the dangers of drunk driving, as traffic accidents in Swabia often lead to serious injuries. The police are also dealing with an increase in crime rates, including incidents where cars are used as weapons.
