His desperate fight in the video - Man tied to bed jumps from balcony
Two weeks after a huge apartment fire in the Striesen district of Dresden, a dramatic video has emerged - recorded by an eyewitness from the neighborhood.
Residents have been puzzling over what happened in the apartment and why the man was tied to his bed.
▶︎ The fact is that the investigators from K11 (Life and Health Department) arrested the man's girlfriend, Nancy S. (19). The magistrate sent the young woman behind bars. It is a case of attempted murder.
At around 8.43 a.m. on November 16, the fire department was called out to the social housing building in Gabelsbergerstraße with 49 firefighters.
Road construction workers had discovered the fire and alerted the residents. The fire department subsequently received several emergency calls.
Investigators are still keeping quiet about what happened in the morning and the night before the fire.
▶︎ One thing is certain: When the fire broke out, the man was handcuffed to a bed frame. Fleeing from the flames, he used the metal frame of his bed to save himself on the balcony on the third floor, then jumped in agony onto the balcony one floor below.
Nancy S. is said to have fled the house after setting fire to it. The police searched for the young mother and her child - she was caught and questioned around midday. The child is said not to have been in the apartment when the fire broke out.
On Friday morning, Nancy S. was brought before the magistrate at the Dresden district court and taken to the women's prison in Chemnitz.
The young woman is known to the police
▶︎ There have already been several juvenile proceedings against her for petty crime, including theft, embezzlement and fare evasion.
The man had already suffered burn injuries once
A neighbor reported: "The young man had already suffered severe burns to his face once before and was wearing a head bandage. Nevertheless, he took the young woman back in with him." It is unclear whether these injuries were the result of an argument.
The apartment building, which houses numerous furnished temporary apartments provided by the social welfare office, is now uninhabitable. All the tenants have been moved to alternative accommodation, including in the prefabricated housing district of Dresden-Prohlis. The third floor is blackened with soot and the couple's front door is boarded up.
The following questions must also be clarified in the subsequent court case:
▶︎ Why was the man handcuffed to the bed?▶︎ Was there bondage sex or a sado-maso night beforehand?▶︎ What exactly happened?
The apartment burned so badly that fire accelerants could have been involved. Senior public prosecutor Jürgen Schmidt (48): "This is all part of the ongoing investigation."

The video sparked widespread interest, with 'Dresden regional news' and other local outlets covering the story.
The news of the incident in 'inland news' also caught the attention of the police and the Fire department, leading them to conduct an investigation.
Investigators found evidence of arson, suggesting that the fire was deliberately set.
Thomas Fischer, a detective in the Arson unit, is leading the investigation and has questioned several witnesses.
According to reports, Nancy S. had a history of BDSM, raising questions about whether this was related to the incident.
The case of attempted manslaughter and arson will now be presented to the court.
The young woman, now in police custody, awaits her trial, while the man remains in the hospital with severe burns.
The incident has raised concerns about domestic violence and how it can lead to such extreme acts of violence.
