Mettmann - Man taken into custody with the help of special forces
Following a report of domestic violence, special police forces have taken a 43-year-old man into custody in Mettmann. According to the police on Sunday, the mother had called the emergency services because her son had attacked her. She was able to leave the apartment slightly injured.
When officers arrived at the house, the man shot at them from the balcony with a softair pistol, according to the police. He then threatened the police officers with a samurai sword and barricaded himself in his apartment.
The 43-year-old, who was known to the police, was eventually taken into custody with the help of special forces. He suffered minor injuries in the process. The man was taken to a psychiatric clinic.
