Man stabs 52-year-old man with a knife in the street
A man has stabbed a 52-year-old man with a knife in the street in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and seriously injured him. The victim underwent emergency surgery and intensive medical treatment, the police announced on Thursday afternoon. The suspect, a 25-year-old German, had resisted arrest at the scene of the crime a few minutes after the attack on Thursday morning and insulted the police officers.
The background to the crime initially remained unclear. According to reports, the suspect is expected to be brought before a judge on Friday to decide whether to remand him in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
The crime occurred in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is located in Upper Bavaria. Despite intensive investigations, the motive behind the stabbing remains a mystery.
