A 39-year-old man inflicted life-threatening neck injuries on a 34-year-old man in Berlin-Neukölln with a knife. The victim was taken to hospital on Friday evening, according to Berlin police. The man remains in critical condition after surgery and had to be resuscitated before the operation.

The men knew each other, according to police. They got into an argument and the 39-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife. He initially fled but later surrendered to police. The suspected weapon, a box cutter, was found on him. The man was taken into custody and will be brought before a judge.

The argument between the two men resulted in the 39-year-old inflicting severe injuries, specifically a neck injury. Due to his critical condition, the victim required resuscitation before undergoing surgery.
