A man was severely injured in an accident at a factory in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt. On Wednesday, the 57-year-old employee of a model-making company in Beilngries was cutting wooden pieces on a stationary saw, as police reported. "He apparently came into contact with the saw blade, resulting in him severing several fingers on his left hand," it was stated. He was transported by helicopter to a specialized clinic.

The incident at the factory was classified as an occupational accident, given the man's employment status. Due to the severity of his injuries, he required immediate surgical intervention to reattach his severed fingers.
