Investigations - Man seriously injured by gunshot in Osnabrück
A man has been seriously injured by a shot in the hand in Osnabrück city center. The perpetrator fled and the public prosecutor's office has taken over the investigation, as the authorities announced on Sunday. According to a spokesperson, two groups had accidentally met in the pedestrian zone on Sunday morning and got into an argument. The people involved did not know each other beforehand. Then one man suddenly pulled out a gun and shot at an opponent who was walking with two other men. The shooter and his companion then fled. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It was initially unclear why the five men got into an argument. The public prosecutor's office did not provide any information on the ages of those involved. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing and investigations into the background, the course of events and the murder weapon are continuing.
