Investigations - Man seriously injured at rest area: suspects in custody

A 45-year-old man was beaten to unconsciousness in a parking lot on the Autobahn 7 in the district of Kitzingen. Two men are now in custody. The 39- and 44-year-olds are accused of seriously injuring the man while drunk, as the police and the public prosecutor's office announced on Tuesday. The suspects were arrested in the parking lot near Martinsheim on Saturday. All those involved were professional drivers.

An investigating judge issued the arrest warrant for dangerous bodily harm on Sunday, according to the statement. The men have been in custody since then. The cause of the crime was not yet clear.
