- Man robs gas station and runs away
An armed man wearing a mask held up a gas station in the Potsdam neighborhood of Bornstedt early in the morning. The suspect suddenly fired a shot into the air, according to a police spokesperson, then demanded cash from the register. He then fled the scene with the money into a nearby forest.
Several patrol cars, a police helicopter, and a tracking dog have been searching for the suspect without success so far. Police are securing evidence and questioning witnesses. The area around the crime scene has been cordoned off.
After the armed robbery, the suspect abandoned his getaway vehicle at the nearby gas station. Later that day, a witness reported seeing a suspicious figure at another gas station, which led to an increased police presence there.
