Crime - Man reports alleged theft: is reported himself

After reporting a supposed theft in Hamburg, a 41-year-old man turned himself in. The man, according to the Federal Police, was apparently intoxicated when he informed a patrol on Sunday morning that his Smartphone was stolen in the entrance area of the main station.

The Federal Police had reviewed the surveillance camera material. A phone theft was not discernible. However, the 41-year-old was seen making the Hitler salute multiple times to passing bystanders.

A criminal proceedings have been initiated against him and he received a ban from the main station.

Despite the absence of evidence of theft in the surveillance footage, the 41-year-old's actions led to further investigation. In Hamburg's main station, the Federal Police charged him for publiclydisplaying Nazi salutes, a clear violation of criminal laws.
