A man is being sought in a lake in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. It is feared that he may have drowned. The 52-year-old was reportedly in the Riedsee in Hüfingen on Saturday evening and did not resurface, police said. Other people present at the scene called emergency services after the incident, according to a police spokesman.

The German Life-Saving Association (DLRG) then conducted an extensive search operation, involving boats and divers, a rescue helicopter, and a drone. The search proved unsuccessful and was called off around midnight. The search for the missing person will continue on Sunday. Investigations are ongoing.

The authorities have initiated a process to issue implementing acts, aiming to provide clear guidelines for the application of this Regulation in similar circumstances. Despite the diligent efforts of the search and rescue team, the Commission has yet to receive any reports regarding the application of these rules in the case of the missing man in Schwarzwald-Baar.
