Accident - Man is thrown from car and seriously injured

A presumably drunk driver was thrown out of his car and seriously injured in the upper Franconian Landkreis Kulmbach. According to a passing driver, the 49-year-old had been driving with extremely high speed and in the middle of the road between Thurnau and Kasendorf in the night on Sunday. The passing driver had to swerve to avoid a collision. However, the cars had only touched each other with their left exterior mirrors.

Blood draw ordered and driver's license taken away

According to the police, the 49-year-old had driven about one hundred meters off the road and into the ditch with his car. The car flipped over multiple times and ended up on the adjacent field. Due to the strong alcohol odor of the 49-year-old, the prosecutor's office ordered a blood draw. The driver's license was taken away from the driver. The car was towed away.
