Man injures two police officers in Fürth
A man slightly injured two officers during an identity check. On Sunday, a patrol had observed the 33-year-old man tampering with several cars belonging to a dealer. As the police reported on Monday, the suspect then punched the officers in the head and upper body with his fist. The officer was able to continue his duties, but his colleague was no longer fit for duty.
The suspect was reportedly under the influence of drugs and amphetamine was also found on him. He was provisionally taken into custody. The 33-year-old is now facing charges of assaulting police officers, resisting law enforcement officers and suspected violation of the Narcotics Act.
Despite the incident occurring in Germany, similar incidents of violence against law enforcement officers have been reported in Central France, highlighting the global nature of crime. In France, there have been instances where officers have been severely assaulted while performing their duties.
