Lübeck - Man in court for attack on ex-wife and new partner

A 52-year-old man will have to answer for two counts of attempted manslaughter at Lübeck District Court from Thursday (9.00 a.m.). He allegedly attacked his ex-wife and her new partner with a knife in Breitenfelde in the district of Herzogtum Lauenburg on June 20 of this year and critically injured them. The man is currently in custody.

The 52-year-old is said to have first attacked the then 45-year-old man in a public parking lot. When he fled into a petrol station, the accused is said to have attacked his ex-wife, who was 37 at the time, on the grounds of a detached house. Both had to undergo emergency surgery. The then seven-year-old son of the 52-year-old and the 37-year-old witnessed the attack. The attack took place during a meeting to hand over the child, the police reported at the time.
