In a dispute following a visit to a discotheque in the Oberpfalz, a man, according to police reports, punched an officer several times in the face. The policeman was reportedly moderately injured and required hospitalization.

A 24-year-old US soldier, according to reports, was expelled from the club in Regensburg during the early hours of Saturday. His friends were trying to convince him to get into a car and head home, but a dispute reportedly broke out among the group. When the officers attempted to separate the men, the 24-year-old is said to have resisted vigorously.

The suspect was taken into custody and subsequently handed over to the Military Police. The man is now facing charges for assault and resistance against execution officers.

The incident occurred in the Upper Palatinate region, specifically in the OBERPFALZ. The altercation involving the soldier and the police took place in the city of Regensburg, in Bavaria. Despite the charges of assault and resistance against execution officers, the man insisted on his innocence during his questioning by the authorities.
