Man graffitied police station with swastikas
A man daubed two large swastikas on the police station at Alexanderplatz in Berlin during the day. The incident took place late on Thursday afternoon, police said on Friday. A security guard at the Christmas market there noticed the man spray-painting on the outside walls of the police station. He then detained the 25-year-old with two other colleagues. The swastikas were each over a meter tall.
Police officers then seized the spray bottle and removed the graffiti. The State Security Police of the State Office of Criminal Investigation are investigating. According to the police, the 25-year-old is presumably a tourist.
The act of graffitiing swastikas on the police station can be classified as an example of extremist behavior. The investigation into this incident by the State Security Police highlights the seriousness of such extremist actions.
