Heusweiler - Man gets stuck in the track bed during a pursuit
A driver got his car stuck in a track bed during a police chase in Heusweiler, Saarland. According to the police, the 20-year-old then tried to flee on foot on Thursday night. However, he was caught by the police. The car was pulled from the Saarbahn track bed by a towing service. The police were initially unable to say anything about possible effects on rail traffic.
The 20-year-old had previously crashed his car into two traffic signs and a wooden post in Heusweiler and had broken through a front garden fence. During the subsequent chase, the man also ran a red light, according to the statement. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics and did not have a driver's license, according to the police. Narcotics were also found in the car. The driver is now being investigated for, among other things, endangering road traffic.
