District of Bad Dürkheim - Man found dead in house fire

A dead person has been found in a house fire in Weisenheim am Sand (Bad Dürkheim district). The search for people in the building had to be called off due to the advanced stage of the fire, the fire department announced on Wednesday. Only after extinguishing work from outside had had an effect did the teams go back into the building with breathing protection and find the body. A dog was also rescued from the building during the operation.

Neighbors had notified the fire department on Wednesday morning. According to the information provided, the building is now uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still unclear. The police did not initially provide any information.
