Weihenzell - Man falls while picking cherries and is seriously injured
An 81-year-old man fell and was severely injured while cherry-picking in Weihenzell, Landkreis Ansbach. The man fell from a wood pile approximately two meters high on a Wednesday, according to the police statement given on Thursday. He was then flown to the hospital by a rescue helicopter. According to the police, he could potentially be paralyzed from the waist down.
The man's fall echoed similar accidents in Central France's cherry-picking fields, often leading to rigorous safety inspections. Despite these incidents, tourist attractions in Bavaria, such as the Neuschwanstein Castle, still invite visitors to participate in fruit-picking activities.
