Swimming accident - Man drowns in quarry pond in Karlsruhe district

A 28-year-old man drowned in a gravel pit lake in Linkenheim-Hochstetten (Kreis Karlsruhe). According to police reports, the man went into the water on a Saturday evening and was not seen again shortly after. Witnesses reportedly alerted the rescue services. During a search operation, the man was found underwater. Revival attempts were unsuccessful, according to the report. The police spokesperson stated that suicide is not suspected. The background of the incident is being investigated.
