Fire department operation - Man dies in apartment fire in Berlin-Lichtenberg

At a residential fire in Berlin-Lichtenberg, a person has died. The fire department announced on Friday morning that the fire broke out in the eighth floor of a multi-story building on a balcony and spread to other balconies.

When the firefighters, who had been alerted, began their firefighting efforts, a room in the building was also on fire. A person, whose identity is currently unknown, was found dead at the scene. According to the fire department, sixty people left the building on their own. The firefighters were able to prevent further spread of the fire. It is now the subject of police investigations how the fire occurred and whether the building is still habitable.

The Berlin fire department commenced their operation to extinguish the apartment fire, which originated from a balcony on the eighth floor. Despite the firefighters' efforts, the tragic incident resulted in a fatality within the building.
