Man dies after crashing his car into a river in northern Hesse
After his car plunged into a tributary of the Diemel in northern Hesse, a 46-year-old driver died despite several hours of resuscitation attempts. The man died on Saturday afternoon, said a spokesperson for the North Hesse police headquarters on Sunday. The internet portal "Tag24" had previously reported. Before falling into the water, the driver had left the road in the Sielen district of Trendelburg (Kassel district) on Saturday afternoon and broken through a fence.
The cause of the accident was still unclear on Sunday evening. Rescue work was reportedly very difficult due to the local conditions.
