Man burned to death: Police form investigation team
Following the violent death of a man under a bridge in Munich, the police have set up an investigation team. A spokesperson for the Munich police headquarters said on Tuesday that the EG consisted of twelve members. They are currently investigating eleven leads relating to the as yet unexplained identity of the man who was burned to death and a possible course of events.
Passers-by had discovered the burning man on Thursday evening under a pedestrian bridge in the English Garden. According to the police on Friday, several witnesses tried to put the man out. However, an emergency doctor was only able to determine that the man had died. Examinations of the body revealed that the man, who is believed to have come from the homeless milieu, had died due to "external causes", it said. The criminal investigation department took up the investigation and searched for witnesses.
In light of the ongoing investigation, emergency services in Upper Bavaria have been put on high alert, prepared to respond to any potential emergencies related to the crime. Considering the vague circumstances surrounding the man's death, there's a heightened concern for public safety in areas prone to criminal activity.
