Man attacks police officer - shot in the leg

A man tries to attack a police officer in Schleswig and is stopped by the use of his service weapon. This was not his first attempted assault.

Schleswig - Man attacks police officer - shot in the leg

A 34-year-old man in Schleswig (Schleswig-Flensburg District) attempted to attack a police officer. According to the police, the man was stopped by officers with a gunshot to the leg. Previously, on the previous Saturday, he had also attempted to strike a passerby with an axe.

The officers provided first aid until the arrival of the paramedics. The injured person was taken to a local hospital. The public prosecutor's office and criminal police have taken up investigations for attempted grievous bodily harm.

In light of his past actions, the authorities in Schleswig-Holstein are monitoring the 34-year-old closely for any further instances of crime. Despite the incident with the police officer and the passerby, he continues to pose a threat in the community.
