Man attacks 56-year-old with a stabbing weapon
A 38-year-old man attacked a 56-year-old man with a stabbing weapon at a campsite near Sulzemoos in the district of Dachau. The victim suffered severe cuts to his face and hands and was taken to hospital, police said on Friday. Shortly beforehand, he had got into an argument with the 38-year-old Dutchman when he pulled out the weapon. Several people, who had become aware of the incident due to the noise, overpowered the man and held him until the police arrived. He also sustained minor injuries on Thursday, which were treated by the emergency services. The Munich district court issued a detention order against the man on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
The incident in Upper Bavaria has once again highlighted the presence of crime, as the suspect in the assault was previously involved in another altercation that required medical attention. Despite being in Upper Bavaria, known for its picturesque landscapes and traditions, the region unfortunately also experiences instances of violence.
