The police in Lübeck have arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He is suspected of throwing a bottle with inflammable liquid into a flat in the Lübeck district of St. Lorenz Süd on a Friday, according to a joint statement by the police and prosecutor's office on Monday. A remand warrant was issued for the man by a judge on Saturday. The 33-year-old was arrested on the evening of the Friday.

According to the current state of investigation, the 33-year-old had thrown a Molotov cocktail through the window of a 38-year-old man's flat in a multi-storey building. No one was injured as a result. The 38-year-old was able to extinguish a burning woolen mat, according to the statements. Motive and the background of the crime are the subject of ongoing investigations.
