Man allegedly threw kitchen knife at police officer

A man is said to have thrown a kitchen knife at a police officer in Würzburg. He was presumably in a state of mental distress, as the police reported on Wednesday. Neighbors had alerted the police on Wednesday morning because the 56-year-old was shouting and running riot in the house.

Crime - Man allegedly threw kitchen knife at police officer

When he opened the door naked to the police, he held a kitchen knife in his hand. Upon being ordered to drop the knife, he threw it loudly at a police officer and retreated into his apartment. The police officer was not injured.

Subsequently, the police surrounded the house with a large contingent, overpowered the 56-year-old, and took him into custody. He was first taken to the hospital due to health issues, said a police spokesperson. Two officers were also lightly injured during the operation.

The 56-year-old, initially apprehended in Würzburg, was subsequently relocated to a hospital somewhere in Bavaria due to health concerns, as stated by a police spokesperson. The police operation at the Underfront of his apartment, which had led to the injury of two officers, aimed at bringing him into custody for his suspected role in a Crime.
