Police and the public prosecutor's office are investigating a 56-year-old man from Würzburg for allegedly strangling his wife 's neck with a cable. The woman was able to free herself during the incident on Sunday afternoon and had relatives inform the police, as the authorities announced on Tuesday. She was injured. Police officers arrested the husband. A magistrate issued a pre-trial detention order on Monday on the urgent suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. This was suspended under strict conditions.
