Indictment - Man allegedly strangled 85-year-old woman with cable
The Berlin public prosecutor's office has brought charges against a 62-year-old man for assault and malicious murder. The man is accused of having strangled his 88-year-old partner in an argument in August. The woman had previously discovered messages on the man's cell phone that he had allegedly exchanged with an 85-year-old acquaintance of the woman and confronted him.
A few days later, the man allegedly killed the 85-year-old woman. According to the public prosecutor's office, the accused is said to have been waiting outside the 85-year-old's house with a bouquet of flowers. After she invited him in, he allegedly strangled her with a cable.
