Man allegedly stabbed wife to death: Danger to life
A man is said to have seriously injured his wife with a knife in Düsseldorf. As the public prosecutor's office and police jointly announced on Sunday, the 48-year-old allegedly attacked his wife of the same age in an apartment in the Düsseltal district. She was taken to hospital and the suspect was arrested.
A police spokeswoman did not initially comment on the background to the crime or the exact course of events. A homicide squad is investigating on suspicion of attempted murder. The 48-year-old, who has German-Kazakh nationality, is to be brought before a magistrate.
In light of the incident, emergency services were immediately called to the scene. The seriousness of the crime necessitated a heightened response from the authorities.
