Northwestern Mecklenburg region sees news development. - Man aged 46 launches armed assault on his parents.
In Grevesmühlen, Nordwestmecklenburg, an elderly couple averted a possible murder by their son during late Wednesday evening. As per the Schwerin prosecutor's office, the 46-year-old boy forcefully entered his parents' home around midnight. Inside, he supposedly threatened his mother, who was in bed, and blasted her in the back of the head with a shotgun. He then shot his father in the face and repeatedly stabbed him in another room. The seriously injured 63 and 69-year-olds managed to summon a neighbor for aid and notified the authorities. Medical assistance was rendered to them in a hospital. It seems like they won't be losing their lives, mentioned the prosecutor's office.
In a statement, the prosecutor's office's spokesman added that the supposed assailant absconded but was apprehended by special police forces in his residence early Thursday morning. He was taken into custody. The perpetrator has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. His court appearance is scheduled for Friday. Preliminary investigations pointed towards a dispute over money as the possible trigger of the crime. The parents has recently informed their son that they would cease providing him with financial support. At present, there is no more information on the living conditions of the son. Ostseewelle, a local radio station, had previously broadcasted the violent event.
