Man, aged 24, found guilty of killing his sister.

A 24-year-old man who stabbed his sister to death was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder on Wednesday. The presiding judge at Bremen Regional Court described the defendant's actions as stemming from unworthy motives.

The defendant believed he had to take his sister's life to regain his own and his family's reputation, according to the judge. It was also categorized as a femicide, denoting the victim was slain due to her gender.

The court did not identify a unique degree of shame. The accused carried out the act in Bremen in December 2023. The sister was 23 years old. The defense lawyer requested a 12-year prison term for the persistent Somali for manslaughter. The prosecutor urged for a life sentence for murder.
