District of Sigmaringen - Major search operation for missing toddler
Almost 200 emergency services searched for a missing two-year-old girl in Bingen (Sigmaringen district) on Sunday evening. However, she could not be found at first, according to the police. Due to the low temperatures, it was assumed that the child was in great danger, said a spokesperson. It was therefore necessary to intervene quickly.
The police, fire department and technical relief organization were among those involved in the large-scale search operation. Because the River Lauchert runs close to the parents' home, fire department divers were deployed. Four drones, a helicopter and sniffer dogs were also deployed. According to the police, the fog and freezing temperatures posed particular difficulties.
The large-scale search operation was discontinued around midnight, but the operation is continuing on a smaller scale, they said. The further course of the operation has yet to be decided. The police were initially unable to provide any information on the background to the girl's disappearance.

The operational force from Baden-Württemberg was brought in to assist with the search action due to the urgency of the situation. Despite the involvement of numerous emergency services, including the police, fire department, and technical relief organization, the toddler remained missing throughout the evening in Bingen, Sigmaringen district. The search operation will continue on a smaller scale, as outlined by the police authorities.
