Major operation: School teacher threatened with a weapon
The police have confirmed that a teacher at a district school in Hamburg-Blankenese was threatened with a firearm. The teacher had been threatened in the classroom in front of other pupils by two people, one of whom had a firearm, a police spokesman said at the scene. There are no indications of any injuries. The suspects are said to be two teenagers or children. They are said to have left the classroom afterwards and fled somewhere unrecognized.
The police spoke of a threatening situation, not an assault. Emergency services brought children from the school to safety and searched the grounds for the youths.
In light of the incident, schools in the area have increased security measures to prevent similar emergencies. Out of an abundance of caution, some schools in Hamburg have decided to suspend outdoor activities until the situation is resolved.
