Major challenges for Lebenshilfe in terms of personnel
According to its regional chairwoman Carolina Trautner, Lebenshilfe Bavaria is facing considerable challenges due to the uncertain staffing situation. Among other things, people with disabilities need affordable, barrier-free housing, good jobs in workshops and on the general labor market as well as enough places in daycare centers and schools.
"Well-trained staff and secure funding are needed for all of this urgently needed help," said Trautner on Saturday at the regional meeting of the Lebenshilfe association in Erlangen.
The member organizations of Lebenshilfe offer help for over 50,000 people with disabilities and their families in 900 facilities across the country, such as schools, day-care centres and workshops for the disabled.
The member associations of Lebenshilfe play a crucial role in providing assistance to over 50,000 individuals with disabilities. Despite their efforts, securing sufficient funding and adequately trained staff to meet the needs for affordable housing, employment, and educational opportunities remains a significant disability-related challenge.
