Midfield player Tom Krauß is underperforming in Mainz, as anticipated, and is expected to improve in the English second tier.

FSV Mainz 05 lends Tom Krauß to struggling Luton Town FC in the English Championship for the duration of the season. The 23-year-old midfielder, having signed with the team in 2023's summer, will benefit from increased game time with the English second-tier side, as confirmed by Mainz.

"Tom indicated his yearning for increased game time and proposed a spell in England. We've obliged his wish. We wish him good fortune during his tenure in Luton and eagerly anticipate his arrival back with us next summer," mentioned Mainz's sporting director, Christian Heidel. Krauß has thus far made appearances in 31 competitive matches (scoring once, setting up two more) for the 05ers.

Krauß's desire for more playing time led him to seek an opportunity in a different league. His loan move to Luton Town in the German Bundesliga's rival competition, the English Championship, was subsequently approved.

Despite his temporary departure, Mainz fans will be keeping a close eye on Tom's performances in the foreign league, hoping to welcome back an even more skilled midfielder next summer.
