The 1. FC Magdeburg played a test match at Eintracht Braunschweig just 24 hours after their 3-1 victory in the 2nd Bundesliga. The match at the Eintracht Stadium's training pitch ended in a 1-1 draw. Connor Krempicki put Magdeburg ahead in the 15th minute, but the hosts equalized shortly after half-time. Fabio Di Michele Sánchez scored for the Lower Saxony team (54').

Magdeburg's coach Christian Titz used the match to give his squad members some playing time, making nine substitutions in total.
