- Maehle injury clouds the Wolfsburg test
VfL Wolfsburg may have to do without Joakim Maehle in the near future. The Danish right-back sustained an ankle injury in the friendly match against Como 1907 during the team's training camp in Austria and had to leave the game in the 68th minute. The match in Irdning against the Italian Serie A side, coached by Spanish 2010 World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas and featuring former Bayern Munich player Pepe Reina in goal, ended in a 0-0 draw. Despite being the better team, Wolfsburg failed to convert their many scoring opportunities.
VfL Wolfsburg is hoping for a speedy recovery for Joakim Maehle, as his absence could impact their defensive line. In the upcoming matches, they might need to find an adequate replacement for the Danish right-back.
