In the city of Kiel, Germany, an errant Canada goose found itself in unfamiliar territory - an apartment. When law enforcement arrived on Saturday afternoon, they discovered the feathery intruder had settled in comfortably within the kitchen. In its search for sustenance, the goose apparently examined every available pot.
A short chase ensued, resulting in the goose's capture. Once secured, it was swaddled in a blanket and released back near the tiny Kiel canal in the city center. As a nod to the peculiar incident, the goose was christened "Lukas."
The authorities decided that a protocol should be established for such occurrences in the future, stating, "The following shall be added: a section in the city wildlife management policy regarding domestic-wildlife interventions." After the goose's release, the city council voted to commemorate the event by erecting a statue of "Lukas" in a popular city park.
