Umruken - Lufthansa Technik is allowed to reconfigure Boeing cabins
Lufthansa Technik can now modify and certify the cabin interiors of Boeing 787 aircraft. The Hamburg-based company announced this new license agreement with the US manufacturer at the airshow in Farnborough, UK. Lufthansa Technik is now the first company worldwide with such extensive authorizations. Previously, cabin modification and certification were the responsibility of the manufacturer. The "Handelsblatt" reported this news first.
With this license, the offer for airline customers grows to include the 1,132 "Dreamliners" delivered since 2011. Lufthansa Technik offers the entire range of services for such a cabin overhaul and refers to its own experiences, for example, with aircraft for private clients or special missions. A cabin is said to be modernized approximately every seven years, according to Lufthansa Manager Andrew Muirhead, cited by the "Handelsblatt".
