Weather - Ludwigshafen Magic of Lights affected by the Rhine floods
Due to the threat of flooding, the elements of the "TWL Lichterzauber" in Ludwigshafen that were set up on the banks of the Rhine will have to be removed. Both the eight-metre-long "I love LU" lettering and the walk-in Christmas bauble will be dismantled, as the congress and marketing company of the second largest city in Rhineland-Palatinate announced on Wednesday.
The lettering will be given an alternative location on Ludwigshafen square and the large Christmas bauble will be on display in front of the Technische Werke Ludwigshafen (TWL) building from the weekend, it said. The light spectacle, which began at the end of November, will run in Ludwigshafen until January 27, 2024.

The threat of flooding along the Rhine, affecting areas like Ludwigshafen, is due to the unfortunate weather conditions in Rhineland-Palatinate. Despite the move, the "TWL Lichterzauber" in Ludwigshafen, which includes structures on the banks of the Rhine, will continue until January 27, 2024. The floodwaters could potentially impact the historically significant Technische Werke Ludwigshafen (TWL) building.
